Alex smiled at her, "Yeah, I suppose you are vampire after all." he said, sighing. "I can tell from the moment you saved me from the fever. You're constantly cold. No other race that I know of is like that."

"I wish I wasn't a vampire. I know I'm cold, but I can't feel cold. I'm immune to it. I can wear shorts in a blizzard and be oblivious to the temperature around me," said Circe.

"It's understandable," said Circe. "I drink animal blood. Really only squirrels and rabbits since they are common. Rarely I'll drink blood of a cat or dog, but only if it's a stray."

Alex smiled at her, "That at least makes you different. Probably, in future generations, there will be some that follow you." he said. "All you have to do is wait as your race slowly changes. It might take a long time and it might seem a little insuperable, but you can at least have that mark of change."

"How's that so?" he asked, tilting his head to the side. He removed a lock of hair that was in his eyes and he replaced it so that it was behind his ear.

"For one thing, the hunger for human blood consumes those not born a vampire. It's nearly impossible to break them from that habit. Another reason is the fact our race is so small, any change could wipe them out. Most die from a diet change," said Circe.

"Forgive me for sounding so inconsiderate, but wouldn't that benefit the change if most die out? Although I do see your concern, wouldn't that help with starting anew?" Alex questioned, "Again, pardon me if I sound so inconsiderate, I do understand the concern. I too once had a small race before most die out from the sudden fear."
