Dark Times {1x1 with Icecreamfreak}

He gave a chuckle. "The reason it's so hot for them, is that they didn't know there was a soul inside. Made it mad." he gave his beard another scratch. "Ah, well. The man who owns that other sword I mentioned. I owed him a little, so he asked me to follow you for a little while." He held his hands up, motioning to the surroundings. "And here we are."


Andrew pointed in front of him. "Do you see those two?" Gwendolyn looked where he was pointing. "Uh, the guy carrying the girl? Yeah, I see them." He nodded. "Good. making sure I wasn't seeing things." She waved to the pair down the road, and kept walking.

"I'm not sure why he cares, but I'm guessing it has something to do with those two." He pointed at the swords. "And Joker. Did it pick that name?"


As they approached the pair, more features became clearer. The man was dressed in black, while the girl seemed to be dressed from head to toe in white. "Not possible," Andrew mumbled to himself. "Wait here a moment, Gwendolyn." She stopped, and watched him walk to the pair. "You royal idiots!" He said to the pair. "See what happens when you go off by yourselves?"

"No spirit. That's as shame. Oh, and do what you like, just don't get anyone hurt." He turned to the shopkeeper. "Shh, dear. They don't like to be pointed out. How bout we head back to your shop? Those daisies looked very pretty."


He grabbed onto the man's shirt. "What happened to her?" He replied calmly, despite being harassed. "She's worn out. She healed me earlier this morning. And sir, there are people right behind me." Andrew stopped dead in his tracks, and looked behind the man. "Afternoon, you two." He looked back to the man, and pulled the swords out enough to reveal the silver trim on Gerbera and black trim on Kierra.


She watched as Andrew assaulted the air near the pair. "What is he smoking.."

He stepped between the boy and the shopkeeper. "Now that's about enough. You're scaring her. Andrew, I think his name was, headed down the path from east gate." He pointed towards the large gate, and made sure the shopkeep was behind him.


"Ya know, psycho analysis is not needed. I'm flipping nuts, alright." Much easier to say that, he thought, than to actually tell them what just happened. Oh, crud, I hope he doesn't follow me, now that I've said that... He walked back to Gwendolyn.


She crossed her arms when he approached her. "Do I want to know why you just scared the heck out of those two?" He scratched the back of his head. "Probably not." She sighed, and continued down the path, giving a quick apology to the pair. "I'm so sorry, he's...he's very fragile."

He watched the redhead walk through the gate, just to be safe. He turned around to talk to the shopkeeper, but found that she had gone.Instead, he went back to his shop, and put out the furnaces. It was barely noon, but it had been a long day.


Gwendolyn looked at the the new pair and nodded, smiling. "Oh, sure. That'd be fine with us." Andrew winced. "This is going to be a fun trip," he mumbled under his breath. He put on a facade with a happy face, and turned around. "Yeah, come on. What's the harm in that?"

He sat down near a furnace, and started thinking. "That boy looked none to happy..." He slipped on a leather glove, and reached it into the cooling furnace in front of him. He dug his hand through the coals, and pulled out a mass of glowing red metal. He threw it into the tub of water, and watched as it turned a grey color. "Afternoon, my friend. How have you been." He lifted the metal gauntlet out of the water, and marveled at the four sapphires embedded in the knuckle guard. "It's been a while, hasn't it?"


Andrew answered as he moved to the front of the group, taking the lead. "Yes, Gwendolyn does, although we're not sure exactly what it is. And i'm just here to make sure she gets there safe."

He slipped the gauntlet on, and watched it tighten around his hand and arm to fit perfectly. "Still not talking, huh?" He stood up, and gathered his things for a trip. He made sure to slide a leather glove over the gauntlet to avoid it being seen.


Gwendolyn looked at the girl's ankle, and gave it a poke. "Oh, me? I'm just a healer. What little incident caused this?" she indicated the ankle, and made eye contact with the girl.


Someone is coming, sir. The voice rang out through his head, as it had done many times before. "And by that, you mean?" he tried to keep quiet. I mean you should watch your back. they seem upset.
