Icy sighed. His wife was going to be in there for a while. He went to the elevator and went to the entrance to go and get some fresh air, but he noticed Nori sitting down on the floor. "N-Nori, what happened to you?"

"I tried to kill the Echo's healer," he said."Sadly the Beta was there and she summoned a fire-based spirit."Nori stood up, wincing at the pain from the burns on his chest."Though, I did find out something useful about the Beta."
Mele
Mele shifted her body back and put her feet up so she was sitting Indian style on the counter.She started to hum as she began to clean off the metal instruments.Occasionally she glanced up at Xylon before going back to cleaning.She knew Disparity wouldn't be coming back down on purpose.He was like a cat, there one minute, the next he was gone. |

"Xylon?! You encountered Xylon?" Icy was shocked, "Do you need help? What did you find out about Xylon?" He was genuinely curious about what the boy found out about the Echo Beta.
Xylon
He awoke groggily, sitting up. He felt a pain in his left eye, and he put his hand up to it. Why did it hurt? Was he opening it? He was sure he was...he panicked momentarily before recollections of what happened earlier came to him. He was fighting Nori, and ended up losing an eye. His eye was a slightly pale blue, paler than his rich ocean one on the right side, emphasizing on how much it was dead. He sighed, looking at his reflection through the mirror across the room. It's weird to be blind in one eye, but he'll kill Nori and Icy nonetheless. Half-blind or not.

Mele leapt off the counter and approached Xylon.She wrapped her arms around his neck calmly and rested her head on his shoulder."I'm sorry," she said softly."It's my fault you got injured."Mele's white hair seemed to blend in with the room slightly.
Nori
"I'm fine, burned, but fine.I found out he has a protectiveness over the healer girl," said Nori.He smiled slightly as he watched Icy."I figured that might be useful," Nori said. |

Slowly and confused, Xylon wrapped his arms around Mele. "...It's not your fault." He stroked her hair, occasionally brushing it. "It's really not your fault. Don't blame yourself."
Icy
Icy laughed, he actually, literally laughed. It was kind of like a burst of amuesment, really, clutching his stomach in uncontrollable laughter. "I thought he was incapable of doing such a thing! Oh dear brother..." He had to lean against the wall to regain his composure. "Is it this..." He chuckled between his words, his amusement not fading away anytime soon. "...this 'Oh I have to protect her because she's a healer' or is it like a fierce love protection--which I highly doubt."

"Like I mentioned before, I don't fully understand love in these situations, but it appeared to me that he's protecting her because he loves her," said Nori.He undid the ponytail and let his hair fall freely.His green eyes betrayed nothing and he seemed to be relaxed.He was rather proud of himself for this discovery.
Mele
Mele was silent for a moment or two."Xylon, I hope you realize whether you're blind or not, it doesn't matter to me.I love you for you, no matter how cheesy and pathetic that sounds.Never forget that," said Mele softly. |

"For what exactly?" she asked gently.
Nori
"You're welcome," said Nori."Now I'm going to go and take a nap somewhere."He began to walk off.He didn't know where the dagger hit Xylon, he had left before then.Nori was disappointed because he lost, but he didn't mind.There'd always be next time. |

Icy
Icy watched Nori go. He was covered in burns, and he knows for sure that Xylon doesn't have any powers over fire. Nori also said that Xylon was protective over the Echo healer. Healers typically don't look like their going into battle, like soldiers, Betas and Alphas do...Maybe some recruits and trainees, but who knows.
A memory struck him.
"Hey, that was the girl that left me hangin'!"

Mele smiled and laughed softly."No problem," said Mele."Though, she was delighted to be in battle.I never let her use her fire magic like that, so I'm sure she's not mad at me any longer."She just stood there, her arms wrapped around her neck.She didn't care that she was younger, the mirror was a lie to her.Age was a mere number.
Nori
Nori heard Icy and laughed."Learn her schedule!" he told Icy before vanishing down a hallway at random. |

Xylon smiled at Mele, "That's good." He couldn't see her properly so he couldn't see much of her left face or the entire left side of where he looked.

"No, not entirely human. I'm what they call a altered human being. Born in tubes or labs. Icy is only my brother by a strand of DNA, that's it." He explained lowly, almost inaudibly and he looked down, "Being altered has its perks: having abilities that seem almost impossible for average humans like controlling over illusions and sensing fears. That's what I have. Icy has the element of controlling snow at his own will." He paused but then started again with the same low voice, "It also has its downfalls. I can't mate with a regular human. They have to be strictly altered human beings like I am for a chance to carry my blood into the future. Even if I were to mate with a normal human female, she wouldn't even conceive; or the unborn baby will die within her. If the there was a chance that it survived being conceived, then the baby can harm the mother and both will not survive within a few months." Sounds nice, huh?
Xylon rubbed his temples looking at her as he did so. "It doesn't mean that we can't fall in love with normal humans, it just means that if we do we won't be able to have kids with them." He dropped his hand, "It's kind of stressful sometimes because normal humans sometimes are scared of us, or treat us inhumanely. Sometimes we're treated like gods. My father... Never mind. I wouldn't want to go down memory lane. It just depends where you are; if you like it or you don't like it. I personally hate it."

"I see," said Mele.She realized how complicated it sounded.She had so many more questions, but something about what he said bothered her."So, you're saying that I cannot have children with you ever in the future?" Mele asked.It was hard to tell what she felt for she seemed to block her emotions from her eyes, though she sounded curious. |

"Not unless you're one of my kind." Xylon responded, almost sadly. "If you're a average human, then there's no chance." He wasn't sure if he wanted kids, but from her question it seemed as if she wanted...children. He wasn't sure.
Then again, there's a chance that she is a altered human being, but how will he be able to find out? He doesn't know...
